Helping Kids Feel Better
and Handle Life Better

Child & Teen Mental Health

Evidence-based therapy for children and teens navigating anxiety, big emotions, low self-esteem, ADHD, stress, and the challenges that come with growing up.

Your child worries constantly, avoids things, needs frequent reassurance, or seems ruled by anxiety

You're in the Right Place If...

Their emotions feel overwhelming, and they have trouble calming down or recovering when upset

They struggle with attention, impulsivity, organization, motivation, or school demands that are too difficult to manage

They're hard on themselves, compare themselves to others, or don't seem to see the strengths you see

Friendships, bullying, academic pressure, school avoidance, or transitions are taking a toll

Your child has experienced family changes, loss, trauma, or another stressful experience and could use additional support

How Therapy Can Help

What Does Therapy Look Like at Different Ages?

  • Understanding and managing anxiety
  • Building emotion regulation skills
  • Developing healthier ways of thinking
  • Improving confidence and self-esteem
  • Strengthening coping and problem solving skills
  • Navigating friendships
  • Managing ADHD-related challenges
  • Processing difficult or stressful experiences

More Than Just "Talking About Feelings"

Kids don't always need another adult asking 'How does that make you feel?'

Therapy with children and teens should be active, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. Depending on your child's age and needs, sessions may include games, activities, skills practice, problem solving, exposure exercises, and plenty of humor!

And because children don't exist in a vacuum, I involve parents when doing so helps create meaningful change outside the therapy room.

Younger Children

With young children, many issues can be solved by working with parents. When I see a young child, therapy is active and concrete with games, activities, and skills practice.

Tweens

We begin giving your child more ownership of therapy while keeping parents involved in ways that support progress at home.

Teens

Teens need a space that feels like their own. I prioritize trust and privacy while partnering with parents appropriately and keeping everyone focused on the same larger goals.

Evidence-based treatment.
Tailored to your child.

MY APPROACH

As a child and teen psychologist in Scottsdale, Arizona, I provide evidence-based therapy tailored to each child's age, needs, strengths, and personality. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), behavioral interventions, exposure-based treatment, Trauma-Focused CBT, and parent-based interventions.

The goal isn't to change who your child is. It's to give them skills and confidence to handle the things that feel hard.

Looking for an ADHD Therapist?

Finding the right therapist for a child with ADHD can feel confusing. Learn what to look for in a provider, which questions to ask, and how evidence-based ADHD treatment may involve children, parents, and schools.
